Sustainability Policy Analyst
Location: Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Contract: 1-year full-time (with possibility of extension)

As a Sustainability Analyst, you will work at the intersection of sustainability policy and business. You will work closely with a 2B Policy Director, supporting clients and multi-stakeholder coalitions in navigating sustainability legislation and engaging with EU institutions in Brussels. You will translate complex sustainability policies into clear, actionable approaches that enable industry alignment and effective implementation.

About the Role
As a Sustainability Analyst, you will strengthen 2B Policy’s capacity to support clients and industry coalitions in understanding and responding to sustainability legislation. Working closely with a 2B Policy Director, a key part of your role will be supporting multi-stakeholder coalitions - such as the T2T Alliance representing leading textile-to-textile recyclers - and contributing to advocacy efforts linked to relevant EU legislation.
Key Responsibilities
You will join a small, driven, and ambitious team working closely with businesses, European institutions, and multi-stakeholder initiatives.
Working Group Management & Facilitation
Leading day-to-day activities of industry groups and collaborative projects (e.g., “T2T Alliance”).
Organise and support meetings, facilitate sometimes complex discussions, and track actions and follow-up.
Analysis & Client Support
Support clients on end-of-life and waste management related legislation and policy developments both at EU and global level, including Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, Waste Framework Directive, Waste Shipment Regulation, and adjacent files.
Translate EU policy developments into practical guidance and client materials & develop communication materials for clients or coalitions.
Engage with external stakeholders, including EU institutions and industry coalitions.
2B Policy Visibility
Contribute to external communications (socials, website etc.) and project-related updates.
Contribute to engagements with EU institutions, policymakers, and key stakeholders.
Support the organisation of events, workshops, and business development activities.
Profile
2–4 years of relevant professional experience in EU public affairs or policy roles.
University degree in Law, European Affairs, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of EU institutions and the EU policymaking process.
Familiarity with sustainability and circular economy issues, preferably in the textile and apparel sector.
Excellent analytical and drafting skills, with the ability to synthesise technical content into clear and actionable formats.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable engaging with diverse stakeholders in an international context. Experience in facilitation is a plus.
Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional EU languages are an asset.
Advanced PowerPoint skills and the ability to develop clear, impactful presentations.
Good command of AI and digital productivity tools (e.g. generative AI, research and analysis tools).
