The French Environmental Cost system is a framework for assessing and communicating the environmental impact of clothing products. Developed through France’s Ecobalyse initiative, it uses a product-level calculation methodology to translate different environmental impacts into an environmental cost score. The aim is to give consumers more information about the environmental footprint of the products they buy and encourage greater transparency across the fashion industry.
